| The famous signature hole, #3, a 210-yard, par 3, requires a tee shot that must carry over 182 yards of ocean (with the unpredicable ocean winds) to reach the green. There are several changes in elevation on the course, highlighted by holes designed to play uphill away from the ocean. "Golf Digest" nominated this course 8th among the "Top 75 Resort Courses" in 1992, 6th in the category of "Top 75 Upscale Courses" in 1996, and 2nd "Best in State" course for 1997-98. In addition, "Golf Magazine" rated this course 16th in the category of "Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S." in 1996. "Golfweek" chose it 57th out of "America's 100 Best Modern Courses" in 1997. |
